ZabaSearch Opt-Out
What Does ZabaSearch Do?
ZabaSearch is a people search engine that allows users to look up public information about individuals, including names, email addresses, phone numbers, and physical addresses. Similar to a traditional search engine, ZabaSearch aggregates data from multiple sources and presents it in searchable profile listings. These sources include publicly available records and certain government databases.
Because ZabaSearch relies on aggregated third-party data, the information displayed in its results may be outdated, inaccurate, or overly intrusive. Profiles can sometimes include incorrect associations or personal details that no longer apply.
ZabaSearch listings are generated using data supplied by Intelius, a major public records broker. Unlike ZabaSearch, which primarily displays search results, Intelius collects, stores, and manages the underlying records. Consumers who want to correct inaccurate information may do so directly through Intelius. However, individuals who want to opt out of ZabaSearch entirely must submit their removal request using Intelius' opt-out tools, as Intelius controls the data powering ZabaSearch results.
How Can I Remove Myself From ZabaSearch?
The only way to remove a public record listing from ZabaSearch is to submit an opt-out request through Intelius. Intelius manages and supplies the data that appears on ZabaSearch, and all privacy, customer service, and removal requests are ultimately handled by Intelius. ZabaSearch's privacy notices and support links consistently redirect users to Intelius resources, underscoring this relationship.
For this reason, opting out of Intelius also suppresses your information on ZabaSearch and other affiliated people-search websites. When consumers opt out through Intelius, they limit how their personal data is shared, displayed, or redistributed to the public and to third-party platforms.
The guide below outlines four approved methods for opting out of Intelius. While some online resources reference outdated pages or broken links, consumers only need to complete one of the valid opt-out procedures described below. Following the step-by-step instructions carefully is sufficient to remove your information from ZabaSearch search results.
Where to Start Your ZabaSearch Opt-Out
Intelius offers four opt-out methods that allow consumers to stop the sharing and public display of their personal data. Submitting an Intelius opt-out also limits data distribution to affiliated and partner sites, reducing exposure across connected advertising and people-search platforms. However, opting out of Intelius does not automatically remove your information from all data brokers. Each unrelated data aggregator requires a separate opt-out request.
Consumers who need to remove multiple records or suppress listings involving minors are advised to contact Intelius' live support line, as these cases often require manual review. Individuals with simpler requests may choose to opt out by email or postal mail.
For most users, the fastest and most efficient option is the PeopleConnect Suppression Manager, Intelius' official online opt-out tool. This same privacy management system is used by other major data brokers, including TruthFinder and InstantCheckmate, meaning a single submission may suppress your information across multiple affiliated platforms.
The guide below explains all four Intelius opt-out options in detail and includes step-by-step instructions, screenshots, and relevant resource links whenever available.
Opting-Out of ZabaSearch: The Complete Guide
Call Intelius' Live Customer Support Representatives
Consumers who require live assistance should contact Intelius customer support by phone at 1-888-245-1655. Live representatives are available Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
When calling, some users may initially reach an automated menu. To reach a live agent more quickly, press 0 to bypass the menu and enter the live support queue. Calls placed outside of normal business hours will typically receive a recorded message advising the caller to leave a voicemail or call back during operating hours.
Start an Electronic Paper Trail by Emailing the Privacy Team
Some consumers may prefer to contact the Intelius privacy team by email. To do so, copy and paste the template provided below into your email client, replace the highlighted placeholders with your actual information, and send the message as instructed.
Response times can vary. In some cases, consumers may receive a reply within one business day, while in others the process may take several weeks, depending on verification requirements and request volume.
Start a Physical Paper Trail by Mailing the Offices
Consumers who want a physical paper trail of their opt-out request may choose to submit it by postal mail. This is the slowest opt-out method, but it offers added assurance for those concerned about cybersecurity and long-term documentation. A simple approach is to copy the email template from the section above, paste it into a word processor, and format it as a formal business letter.
When preparing the letter, place the mailing address and the date in the top-left corner above the greeting. Format each line of the address separately. At the end of the letter, leave space between the closing and your printed name to allow for a handwritten signature.
Once complete, mail the opt-out request to the following address in California:
Intelius / ZabaSearch
Attn: Privacy Opt Out
501 W. Broadway St., Suite 800
San Diego, CA 92101
Because mailed requests require manual handling, processing times are typically longer than online or email submissions.
Remove Information From ZabaSearch with the Suppression Manager
Most consumers will find that the fastest and most effective opt-out method is using the online suppression form provided by PeopleConnect. PeopleConnect acts as a centralized data privacy management platform, allowing individuals to control how their personal information appears in public search results. Companies that rely on PeopleConnect follow standardized opt-out procedures designed to comply with applicable federal data-privacy regulations.
To begin the opt-out process, open the PeopleConnect Suppression Manager in a new browser tab and follow the on-screen instructions to submit your request.
Step One: Start the PeopleConnect Suppression Manager Process
After clicking the link, the PeopleConnect Suppression Manager will open to the login page. Enter an active email address in the field provided, check the Terms of Use box, and click the teal "Continue" button.
The page will immediately update to confirm that a verification email has been sent. Check your inbox for a message from verifications.peopleconnect.us. Open the email promptly, as the verification link is time-sensitive. If the link expires, return to the login page and submit the form again to receive a new verification email.
Step Two: Verify Your Email Address
Open the verification email and click the teal "Verify Email" button located in the center of the message. This action opens a new browser tab where you will complete the remainder of the opt-out process.
Step Three: Enter Your Date of Birth
On the next page, you will be prompted to enter your date of birth. Click the calendar icon on the right-hand side of the field to select your birth date. After entering the information, check the verification box on the left and click the teal "Continue" button.
Step Four: Provide Name Information
Enter the first, middle, and last name associated with the record. You may also include aliases or name variations, separated by commas. Check the "This is my legal name" box, then click "Continue". If applicable, select "Add another name" to include previous or changed names.
Step Five: Select the Correct Record
Review the list of available records and select the one that applies to you by clicking the white circle on the left. Once selected, the circle will turn teal and the record box will be highlighted. Click "Continue" to proceed.
Step Six: Confirm Identity Verification
If the email address you entered is already recognized by the system, a verification confirmation will appear on the next page. If not, you may be prompted to complete an additional authorization step. Once verification is complete, click "Continue".
Step Seven: Set Your Record to Suppressed
The final page is the Control Panel, which displays your current identity configuration. Open the "Desired Behavior" drop-down menu, select "Suppressed", and then save the change. Once the status is updated, your opt-out request is complete.
Some users may need to refresh the page for the status to update and display "Suppressed". Once the configuration status shows this designation, the opt-out request is considered complete and should be implemented promptly across applicable platforms.
If the privacy team is unable to fulfill the request, the consumer is typically contacted within 30 days for additional verification or clarification. At any time, users can return to the Control Panel and select "Suppression Settings", indicated by the blue arrow, to review the current status of their opt-out requests and confirm that suppression remains active.
Return Later to Check the Status of the Suppression Request
Submitting an opt-out request results in one of two outcomes: the request is approved, and the data is suppressed from public search results, or it is denied, and the information remains visible. For this reason, all consumers should verify the outcome by returning to ZabaSearch or Intelius and performing a new search using their identifying details. If the opt-out request was successful, no matching records should appear.
It is important to understand that public records databases are continuously updated as new information becomes available. As a result, previously suppressed data may reappear in the future through newly generated reports. Consumers are advised to check their listings at least once per year and submit additional opt-out requests if new records are found.
This guide reflects the opt-out procedures outlined in ZabaSearch's and Intelius' privacy policies as of 2025.
